Detecting on a new sheep pasture permission I got a strong signal at maximum depth, digging down to almost 10 inches I pulled out this Saxon lead nummular brooch. Considering it’s been in the ground since the 10th century it’s in pretty good condition. It’s now going to be handed in to be recorded on the antiquities database.
