On Sunday, August 18th, 2019 I went out for a quick evening hunt to end the weekend. I decided to search an area near on old foundation where I had recently dug a few buttons and a 1816 Montreal 1/2 cent token. A few months ago I wouldn't even have known what I had, but since getting my Equinox 800, I have dug a lot of holes and done a lot of research. I got a signal of 22-23 and it sounded ok so I decided I would dig it, thinking it may be an Indian Head or Wheat Cent. I made an oversized plug because the numbers were indicating something better than a square nail. The tone was fairly clear, but there was a lot of lower tones also, so I dug a little bigger than normal. I checked the plug and there was nothing, checked the hole and it was still in there. I looked closer and could see a thin round edge. I pulled it out and when I saw "GW" in the center and "LONG LIVE THE PRESIDENT" around the edge I knew the 800 had found me treasure!
