Success Story

I had researched a Battle of the Civil war that occurred about an hour from where i live. I had discovered that the Union army had crossed a river at a ford crossing that had existed at that time, where a bridge currently stands. I took my Minelab Equinox 800, mask and snorkel and went in the river wirh hopes of a few bullets or buttons. I was finding plenty of modern junk, but after a few minutes I got a nice sounding signal with a reading of 14. I slipped under the surface with my mask and snorkel and to my total dismay, i saw the outline of an artillary shell. I carefully removed the surrounding sediment, and was elated to find the fuse adapter still in place! It turned out to be a Confederate side loading 10 pound Reed Parrot Shell!!
