( https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Langres ) After less than an hour of searching in a forest with my Minelab VANQUISH 540 , I got a not too high signal that led me to my first Celtic coin. Soon the signals got stronger and stronger due to the greater number of coins I discovered at this place. A real Celtic treasure with 240 coins. A little explanation about these coins ... GALLIA BELGICA - LINGONES (Area of LANGRES) Date: c. 80-50 AC. Metal : potin HISTORICAL BACKGROUND Lingones (Region LANGRES) (Second - first century BC) Lingons the territory was vast, straddling the current department of Haute-Marne and part of the Côte d'Or, Yonne and Aube. Their capital was located in LANGRES. They were surrounded by Séquanes the Mandubii, Leuques, the Remi, the Suessiones the Sénons and Aedui. It was one of the largest civitas of Gaul. LANGRES, who kept their name seems to have been one of their oppida. Allies of the Romans, they did not participate in the war. The Helvetii, upon retirement after the defeat of Bibracte, crossed the lingon territory.
