1829 Half Dime from "Hunted Out" School Yard

05 Jul 2017

I do a lot of research on promising spots to detect for Silver Coins...which are my passion...and have great success with research and door knocking. I've also hit most of the older schools, parks and normal places that people detect when first learning how to operate their first detector. I soon became disillusioned with my first machine...an inexpensive brand I won't mention. I actually quit detecting for a while and almost gave it up for good. I decided to purchase my first Minelab...the E-TRAC...and I've never looked back. Since then, I've purchased the CTX 3030 with the 17" coil and am just amazed at the depth and accuracy I have found with this machine...not to mention the finds!

I decided to go back to all of the places I hunted when I first started to see what I had missed before my Minelabs. My buddies said I was nuts and was wasting my time. "Those Are All Hunted Out" they told me. Well, I went back to the schools, parks and places that have been "Pounded to Death" and am "Cleaning House" with all kinds of great finds and Silver. I was at one of those old schools and found (among lots of other deep silver) my oldest Silver coin yet...a 1829 Half Dime...in a field that I know has been detected many, many times by myself, and others. I'm certain that I would not have found this coin without the depth and accuracy of my CTX 3030 with the 17" Coil. Thank you Minelab for giving me so many hours of enjoyment and a renewed love for Metal Detecting. Although I won't part with my E-TRAC...I'm truly in love with my CTX 3030! Keep up the awesome advancement and development. You have a customer for life!
