Minelab

WW2 Ammo

18 Feb 2021

Good morning from Belgium.. Yesterday ( 17th of february 2021), my son(8y)and i (32y) went on a field search with the Minelab Go-Find 22.. We searched near a known crash site from a B-17 bomber from WW 2. Within the first half hour we get great hits with the detector ( Minelab Go-Find 22) and we were able to dig up some bullits( probably from the defense gun onboard the crashed airplane) .The pictures shows a piece of a bullit ,wich have 2 letters and 1 number stamped on it. The first bullit had S L 4 on it( according to a topic on the web) manufactured in Saint Louis Ordnance plant in the year 1944. A second bullit had D M 4 on it wich (by the same topic) was manufactured in Des Moines ordnance plant in Iowa. Note : After we took some pictures , we notified the local pd to collect our findings. Kind Regards from Belgium.
