I am new to detecting, tarted in April 2020, my very first machine is a Vanquish 540, I have only ever beach detected, I was detecting along a beach in Perth Western Australia when the machine bleeped and the VDI came in at 33-34 and only 2" down, I thought it was a bit of aluminium can, but had been told in a Minelab Vanquish forum to dig every descent signal, so I did. To my surprise and nice silver ring appeared. It has distinctive writing inside the band. It is now with the police to try and find the owner. This hobby is so addictive.
