Cloaked in mystery

15 May 2020

I have been detecting a very small park for years I call it my ring park as I have had great success pulling Rings here. After work I found myself very close to this park so I though I would head over for a quick hunt and I sure was happy I did. This afternoon I just had that feeling I was going to find something good I worked the edges around the walkways digging a host of trash items as usual of course but something was different today I was going slower even though I had less time than normal and as I worked my way to an area that has been hit many times I got a solid hit of 18 and unlike most targets it was not bouncing around. I began digging and at the bottom of the hole I saw that beautiful gold shining up at me. Knowing I found something good I stared recording the excavation of the target and to my surprise I found this beautiful Masonic ring. At the time however I did not realize what I had dug. Realizing the center was missing I used my pin pointer to see if I could locate what I thought would the a center stone after hearing the small chirping of the pointer I knew it was in there but the next few minutes were frustrating moving that tiny piece around. Once in my hand I saw that gold color and knew I had accomplished my task. It was not until I got home and washed it all up and while showing it to my lovely fiancé Brandi did we realize what we had. It’s one of those finds I’ll remember always. The equinox 800 came through picking a beautiful ring out of a field of trash and at 8” down it still amazing how well the signal was and how accurate the target ID was. Good job Minelab thanks for tbt memories!
