My Dad and Grandfather started prospecting in the early 70’s here in Arizona. I joined them on their adventures when I turned 4. We used many methods from dredging to dry washers, high bankers and panning. We entered the world of detecting in the early 2000’s, finally purchasing our first PI detector, a GP3000. My grandfather passed away a few years ago but my dad and I continued on the hunt for gold. Our first nugget finally came a month ago, an almost 1/2 ounce nugget from Yavapai County. I know my grandpa was with us that day and joined in on our gold dance!
