I was hunting my local beach and was disappointed when I first arrived because the conditions weren’t what I had hoped for. The surf was sanded in which made for a difficult hunt. I started out in chest deep water and was not finding anything for the first hour. I kept plugging along when all of a sudden I got a sweet mid tone signal on my Excalibur II. I dug down and was able to recover the target on the first scoop. To say I was shocked is an understatement. I immediately thought I found a junk necklace because of the deep yellow color of the metal. After close examination I discover that the necklace was 18k gold and the pendant was 24k. I couldn’t concentrate for the remainder of the hunt, and had to make a trip to my vehicle to store the jewelry for safe keeping. I was shaking and this is by far the most valuable item I’ve ever found. The piece weighed in at a little over 40 grams!
