Success Story

Its been a very hot and dry start to summer in Victoria and I usually wait until the cooler months when there is some moisture in the ground to do most of my detecting. However I got an opportunity to hunt an area of an early gold rush pre-1860 and curiosity got the better of me. During the day I found some lovely relics and Georgian and early Victorian coins and near the end got a cracking signal and at about 6 inches with the CTX3030 noticed a buckle shape at the bottom of the hole. Having watched a number of US you tube clips, I new I had found something special when I wiped away the dirt and saw the US staring at me. If only this buckle could talk, stories of frontier times in the US and Australia. I feel very honoured to have found this and it just goes to show you, you never know what the next signal is going to unearth.
