My friend and I found a Indian battle site, here in Idaho! After 2 days of hunting and finding bullets, parts of harnesses, mule and horse shoes, we were almost ready to stop.
The wind was bad and we were really tired! My friend had quit! I said I'm going to try one more place.
I got a great signal. I dug down about 12 inches, and on the dirt was a strange looking item! It was a U.S. waist belt plate, in very good condition! I had it looked at and it was from the Ohio Volunteers in 1861. Very nice condition, it looks like a horse has stepped on it though. It hasn't hurt it other than it made a slight crease in the back.
All three hooks are present and very nice condition! Odd place to find a 150 year old buckle! let me know what you think! Leo & Ed!
