New year/old history

09 Jan 2022

Got a chance to take advantage of a mild early January day in New York and it paid off. This was a super tough find and very rewarding. Not only has my current farm permission been hunted "for the past 15 years" as the owner put it, but this coin was a foot deep and it's the size of a U.S. nickel. It was giving a mid tone signal and a VDI of 15 so I expected the usual shotgun shell, but after checking the iron discrimination on the Nox 600, and still getting a clean signal I decided to dig it. What I came up with is a 1749 KG2 Farthing.
