I started metal detecting about a year ago, and have been using an Explorer II. It has been a good machine, and I have found quite a few silver coins and rings along the curbs in the town where I live. When my new EQUINOX 800 arrived, I couldn't wait to try it out. I went out the front door as soon as it was charged up, and walked over to the next street over. I had already hunted it a number of times, but there were plenty of trashy spots, and I hoped the faster recovery time of the EQUINOX might find something I missed before. A strong, repeating signal prompted me to dig down along the side of the brick sidewalk, and my heart almost stopped when this gold ring popped out of the ground! My first gold... a late Victorian Knights of Pythias ring! It is by far my best find, and I know I went over it at least three times with my other machine. This machine is just awesome!
