I had heard from one of my metal detecting buddies that there was a $10,000 lost ring at the local beach, he and others had been trying without success. He gave me some contact details of the owner. From there, they gave me an area to work in. As it was low tide, I used the preset mode 'beach' with target ID on and I used the geo hunt feature in case I had to come back. I started in the wet sand and I picked up 2 bits of trash and then a strong solid 12.09 signal. Even though it had been a few months, the item was only 2 inches under the sand. I initially used the pin pointer on the machine and then used the pro pointer, so all up it took about 10 minutes to locate. The owner as you can imagine was pretty excited so that morning we met up at a local cafe. She brought proof of purchase, as soon as she saw it she was in tears. It was a magic moment.
Thanks Minelab for helping me find that ring!
