Early start detecting on a ploughed field in Norfolk UK with the Nox 800, using the beach 1 mode as it’s my preferred setting now. 4th good signal managed a 1914 penny, for the next couple hours moo tubes, shotgun ends and trash was found. Me, the wife Lisa and my little one stopped for a quick bite to eat, then hit the dirt for some more hunting. Time was ticking away and the day was not looking good then suddenly a solid banging signal, me and the daughter Lia said another shotgun and she started singing shotgun song lol, I dug the hole screen said approx. 3” deep, turn over the dirt and we both looked at each other and Lia said “it’s gold “I said no think it’s gold colour milk bottle top and then I removed some soil of the find to reveal the gold looking coin. My little one Lia started crying and said dad we’ve found gold, what a feeling this was, moments to remember for many years. I remained knelt on the ground for around 10mins just admiring the coin until the wife Lisa ran over to us. It was a great family moment to all witness the find together. Believed to be an Early Anglo Saxon Gold Coin, still awaiting full identification from the museum as they’ve asked for international advice. What a day!
