Keeping it Level

03 Jul 2019

On June 28th I went out for a quick hunt, first plug I pulled the 18k ring in the bottom left from a park, the following day I didn’t have much time, maybe 15 minutes total I went out to a foundation I have permission to do I knew this was going to be a tuff spot because it is loaded with iron. So I just went slow using field one with all metal on so I could separate the targets. Then boom a solid target 3ft from the stone wall. When I popped the plug I immediately saw the eagle I never in my mind imagined a level would be worth what it is. I posted it on the ID Me page on Facebook and it was quickly identified as a Vandergrift Level with a potential value of $4795.00. The following Monday I went to a new spot that I had a felling would be good. I started digging old pull tabs and bottle caps the first few holes and knew I was in the right spot. After a half hour I get a solid 9 and out pops a 10K gold ring with a pearl, I was pumped, I swung maybe 10 more feet and got a high tone, to my surprise it was an 1864 2 Cent Piece down over a foot. Thanks for reading and best of luck with your finds.
