Success Story

Off out on permission which had been detected before, all started with normal signals and few trash items coming up. Then boom, I get a cracking signal 14 14 14 on the Nox 800 with my preloaded Beach 1 Settings to all lands to my amazement I recover a lovely cut half hammered coin in great condition identification Henry II shortcross cut half - class 1b, Lefwine at Lincoln. S1344. Day continued finding buttons and other little artifacts. Had a coffee in the field and then headed into different direction, the Detecting gods must of urged me to go this way. Swinging at low & slow speed admiring the beautiful countryside of Norfolk I get a lovely signal and look down to see Sun Bather sitting there on the edge of the recently Discued soil. I bend down and as I get closer I see a hammered coin sit there, one I’ve never seen before, I sit in shock for about 10-15 mins, I post photos on my local and within seconds replies Youve done it - SAXON SAXON with this I sit and admire, I received the Identification from a guy at top respected auction house in London. Saxon Edward The Confessor Small flan type Penny Ostmund at York Spink 1175 Struck c1048 - 1050 Over the moon was an understatement 🤩. I continued to detect with this coin going through my head I was on cloud nine. I managed to recover few other items but last item was a lovely gold guilded horse pendant. What a day, one I will always remember. Jason Jones Norfolk Button Boy
