The time had arrived, my first metal detecting rally as a member of the Yeovil Metal Dectecting Club. 9:30am and we were off, me and my X-TERRA 705. As I entered my first field of stubble there weren't many signals so I decided to go through the hedge to the grass field. Everybody I could see was heading to the centre of the field, so I decided to turn left and try my luck. I couldn't believe it after five minutes my X-TERRA 705 gave me a lovely signal reading 30 on the digital display. I dug, and low and behold I had found my second ever hammered silver coin. After replacing the clod of earth I swung my detector and was hearing another lovely signal. I started digging and my heart skipped a beat when in the ground I could see another coin - another silver hammered coin. This is where it all unfolded, I proceeded to find a further 11 coins making a total of 13 silver hammered coins in a three metre square.
