Early in February of 2011 there was 3 inches of snow here in Indiana. The temperature warmed up above freezing. I feel this is the perfact time to detect because you can see exactly where you have been. I field hunt and research is very important. I researched a site on an old map along a gravel road that doesn't see much traffic. There was a house there in the mid 1860s. After about an hour of detecting I got a very good hit about half way up the depth scale. I dug my plug and found an amazing coin in the dirt. It is a 1853 dime in amazing shape. I was so excited I packed up and went home. My dime tied for best coin find of the year at my detecting club. I can't be more excited and I couldn't have done it without my Minelab.
