Farragut State Park has been used for the National Boy Scout Jamboree for decades. When metal detecting, you often find bins and badges scattered in different locations of the more than 4000 acres. I was detecting a difficult wooded area that used to be the park during the WWII Naval Post days with the 6" coil since there was so much debris and fallen trees. I found several coins from the 40s and 50s and one Buffalo Nickle form 1930. I started working around a fallen tree when I got a high tone in the 30s. Started to dig down, and about 12 inches below the surface, saw the glint of Silver. I pulled the object from the hole to discover a Boy Scout neckerchief slide form the 1973 National Boy Scout Jamboree. I ran the coil back over the hole only to discover the same signal. After 10 minutes of digging and recovering, there were 10 total slides in the hole! All the slides are now with the Park's Historian and hopefully, they will make it into the museum.
