The familiar signal I was getting was a constant 13-14 double number. Here in Missouri, in the USA, that's almost always a nickel coin, but sometimes a soda can tab will fall under those numbers. I was detecting with the six inch coil on my Equinox 800. Under the trees where I was detecting, vendors like to set up their stands or park their vehicles under the shade, at this park that is used for some popular local festivities. I was getting a lot of pop tab hits, and I was digging them, at least to make the ground cleaner for a later hunt. I thought I'd go head and dig this one , too, just to get that nickel 😃 I "could" set my detector to ignore....or "discriminate" out, those pop-tab readings, but, here you see it......if you do that, you risk missing something good. I have been over this very old 1833 yard many times, although I usually don't concentrate much on the area that I did today. I was running the Neil's Beach 1 For Land settings, Sensitivity 25, Iron Bias 0, Recovery 5, but I was swinging slower than that. I'll be going over that area again, you betcha!
