Decided to go for detecting with my GO-FIND 66 a few days ago. I live in Bundaberg Qld. Apart from the usual junk I get, like the rest of us, I came upon my biggest find to date. In the first 5 mins, I dug one target, but it was just a piece of copper, but my next target about a minute later will be my most memorable find. About 4 inches down I pulled out the ground a 1892 gold half sovereign, which at first I had no idea what I had just found, with heart racing I cleaned it up a bit with some water and thought to myself, what have I just found. I went home and cleaned it with some water and a cotton bud and took some pictures of it. Posted it on a metal detecting site on Facebook and people couldn't believe what I found, some say a bucket list find, and I'm thinking the same. I don't think I can top this anytime soon.
