Hunter from Northern Virginia started his fall hunting season by going to a new spot that he had been researching and had recently obtained permission for. The whole area was well known for its troop movement during the US Civil War, but this property was a little more off the beaten path.
Hunter started his hunt by going to the creek at the bottom of the hill with his Nox-800. After about an hour and a half of getting miscellaneous old iron and modern coins he decided to go hunt the land and come back to the water another day. He went back to his car and grabbed his GPX-4500 and began hunting the hillside. Within just minutes he started digging pieces of melted lead and flat nails. He decided to slow down around that area and within another few minutes he got into a little bullet spill where he dug 5 bullets in about 20min! Right after he dug his fifth bullet, he got a very clear signal that sounded like a larger brass item. He began digging and at about 6in down he could see an oval shaped piece of brass which was a US Bit Boss. After recovering the first Bit Boss, Hunter rechecked his hole and got another crisp “ear blowing” signal. He dug down about another inch and recovered one more beautiful US Bit Boss.
