I have been detecting an old farm house for several years with my CTX3030. I have always been able to find something interesting there. My CTX gave me a solid 12/23 Gold signal (which I don’t see very often) so I dug this old dirty jewellery chain. I thought it was costume jewellery junk but my CTX was still telling me it was something special! I used electrolysis and buffing to get the layers off and a golden beauty emerged. I took it to my jeweller who confirmed that I had indeed found an 18kt gold chain. The chain had been burned in a fire and that was what had caused it to look like it did when I found it. It came in at just under one ounce of gold so I had a clasp put on it to wear my awesome find. Thanks to my Minelab CTX3030 for telling me what I had even after it was in my hand. It certainly didn’t look like it does now when I found it. Thank you to Minelab for building the best detector I ever used!
