Success Story

Hello, I operate a recovery service called "Lost Ring & Jewelry Recovery Service" in South Jersey. This is typically the only metal detecting I get to do nowadays given my busy schedule with family and work, but recovery work is what I enjoy the most so I don't mind. Typically my busiest time of the year is the summer and early fall months. However last Saturday evening 12/21/19, I received a call from Jordan. Jordan explained that he was proposing to his girlfriend on Sunset beach in Cape May NJ when he opened the ring box and the ring he had purchased was gone! He wasn't sure exactly when the ring fell out of the box but he was fairly sure it happened while he was on the beach. After gathering some details from Jordan we agreed on a time to meet up. I took a ride over to Sunset Beach about 10pm and arrived at the parking area. It was about 27 degrees out with a decent wind blowing. The top inch or so of sand was partially frozen. Jordan had not arrived yet but I decided to walk down onto the beach to see if I could find any signs of where someone may have been looking for a lost item (lots of claw marks and foot prints). Eventually I found an area with tell-tale claw marks and footprints so I decided to start checking, after a few passes I had the ring in my scoop! I walked back up to the parking lot to wait for Jordans arrival. I decided to start a live feed on FB since I don't typically get to recover a ring before meeting a client so this was a little extra special. I attached the video of the live feed below. Shortly after Jordan and His Father Keith arrived at the parking area we began chatting and I presented the found ring. Both Jordan and his father was in disbelief that I had found it before they arrived. Jordans father had explained that this was an emotional day as his son had recently received two new Irises, Jordan is legally blind so watching the events unfold after everything his son had been thru was especially heartbreaking. BUT this story had a happy ending. I have done many recoveries over the years but there are some that literally warm your heart, this is one of them. Here are some words from Jordan and his father Keith: Jordan Page "Hey Jeff! This is me and my fiance with our recovered ring she loves it and we are so thankful to you. You changed what was one of the worst tragedies into one of those great moments you remember for a lifetime. You reaffirmed my faith in humanity and decency. You are truly a hero! To come out at 10pm on a sat night in winter is unbelievable enough let alone. Your integrity in finding the ring before we got there and holding it shows how much of an amazing honest person you are and that is rare these days. We and I personally cannot thank you enough the joy even as I write this is overflowing. Everyone in town has been asking us about it and I'm singing your praises as the saviour of our engagement. I got a call from sunset beach gift shop checking in about if we found the ring and I told them how awesome you were. He told me to send him a picture of your card so he can give your info to anyone that needs your services. Thank you so much" Keith Page "First, Jeff, Thank You for finding Jordan's ring...you are amazing! You came out on a cold Saturday night and before we even got there, you had the ring, again, thank you...I cannot say it enough! As a father, knowing what Jordan went through to get to this point and then seeing the video of him on his knee proposing and then his reaction realizing that the ring had fallen out and disappeared into the sand, it brought tears to my eyes for him. You, the helpful people on the beach, the staff at the Sunset Beach Gift shop, my son's fiancé and her two beautiful children, my wife, all turned an emotional rollercoaster of a night into one of the most positive and memorable evenings of our lives. Thank you again, you really are a good person, you have had a positive impact on everyone's life that you have helped by helping them find something they lost, please keep doing what you do, it does not go unnoticed. Our very best to you, Keith & Karen Page, Jordan and his beautiful family. By the way, Maria said yes!"
