It’s been said that there are only two seasons in Portland Oregon, with one being wet and the other wetter. While on the other hand southern Oregon, besides enjoying moderate winters and dry hot summers, has some of the best (and in some cases only) dredging on the west coast. So for those of us whose idea of a good time is spending summers face down, hind end in the air, and nozzle in hand at the bottom of any one of Oregon’s many gold bearing rivers and creeks, winter always seems too long and summer way too short.
