CTX 3030 Scores the Trifecta!

11 May 2012

Today was a good day in that I scored the Trifecta! Copper, silver and gold! I suppose you could call it a “grand-slam” as I actually found four nice items, of four different metals. First was the 1939 nickel. Next was the 1939 copper penny. The third was a nice 1900 silver dime. And the fourth was the gold locket. The first picture is of the four “keepers” I found today. Lots of modern coins. But only the three old coins and nice piece of gold jewelry. The picture with the dime shows how deep it was buried. I pride myself on being very good at pinpointing. And this target is a perfect example of how accurate I was. I cut a plug with about a 5 inch diameter, 5 inches deep. Scanning the hole, I realized it was still in the ground. I pulled another 4 inches of dirt from the hole and the dime was stuck to the bottom of the plug. Not a real valuable find. But at today’s prices, silver is always welcome. And to have found it at an honest 9-inches…… WOW! The third picture shows the gold locket still in the ground. It rang in as a 12/36 and was about 8 inches deep. By the way, I was running the stock coil, Modified Coin Program, Auto +2 Sensitivity, Combined audio with some minor adjustments to the parameters, Fast ON, Deep OFF, Ferrous-Coin, Ground Balance OFF.
