Out metal detecting in the hills of Northern Nevada, we stumbled across a small acre of land. I noticed lots of broken glass and remnants of rusty metal. We decided to break out the minelabs and test it out. After about 45 minutes I recovered an 1864 Half Dollar! Large S variety. The day was waning because its December. We went back the weekend after and my buddy found an 1858 Seated Quarter, and I found an 1854 Seated quarter. We were both very excited to say the least. A couple hours went by digging square nails and a couple military buttons. At 2:54 pm I got a slamming 15 on the Equinox 800 and I actually thought to myself, "huh maybe its gold" and sure enough it happened! I popped out an 1865 S $5 gold coin! I was so excited, I screamed out "oh my God "! My two buddies ran over and said what? What? I said I found gold! In total disbelief, I got out the pinpointer and revealed the treasure. We all had some cheering and fist bumps and were in total excitement. It was a blessed day.
