Anglo Saxon gold

26 Aug 2018

Managed to gain access to the grounds of a 14th century mansion tucked away in Kent uk the owner was very welcoming and just said not to come too often After just finding old copper pennies and scrap lead I came across a very low sounding signal (was only a 10 on my Safari) but it was a two way solid signal so I dug it to my amazement as the plug rolled over I could see a gold rim(there’s no mistaking gold) cleaned it off to reveal something very cool sent some pics to my finds liaison officer and it turns out I unearthed an 5-6th century Anglo Saxon gold bracteate hopefully will end up in Canterbury museum Found so much cool stuff with my Safari in the last few years thanks for such a great machine
