After a few months since I bought my Equinox 800, on a hill, a strange looking one, I detected a weak interrupted signal, since that soil was very mineralized...near this location is an iron mine...I thought is a fake signal but something wasn't so fake in it so I started to dig. The id was 8-10 but not an iron one tho. At 20-25 cm I pinpointed something golden and clean, at the moment I felt it in my hand I knew it was gold and I was dazzled. I pinpointed again and found another piece, full of dirt, I thought it's an earring but after I washed it and identified the pieces that earing was a bunch of eyebrow rings put all together. The bigger piece was a hair ring, an elicoidal wire that weighted 20g and the eyebrow rings where about 12g and 3 kind of materials...yellow gold, white gold and some little silver rings. I took all the pieces to the museum and donated those to them. After identifying those objects, seems like it was a ritual deposit, 4000-5000 years ago, pure alluvial gold. On that zone a couple of other detectors searched the ground...not Minelab ones and missed that :). I'm not so good at handling my Minelab but seems like it has potential. Great findings, everyone!
