Some anti-virus products can generate false-positive alerts when installing or upgrading the XChange 2 PC application.
In cases where the anti-virus product removes files and places them into quarantine automatically, the XChange 2 application will fail to upgrade and report unexpected errors.
The workarounds are, in order of preference:
- Update the anti-virus product's virus dictionary/definition file and re-attempt the upgrade.
- Retrieve the file from quarantine, save it to a known location and attempt to run it.
- Temporarily disable the anti-virus product and re-attempt as follows:
- Reboot the computer system
- Close all applications that startup automatically
- Disable the anti-virus product temporarily
- Start XChange 2 and attempt to upgrade
- Once the upgrade / installation is successful, re-enable your anti-virus product
