Every May I look forward to packing my metal detector and heading to a Go Minelabbing event, also known as International Metal Detecting day. I have now attended and been a guest speaker on every Go Minelabbing day, from Atlantic City New Jersey to the Quad cities Illinois.
These events held all around the world, have given me the opportunity to meet and become friends with people who share the same passion for metal detecting. Go Minelabbing days are excellent opportunities to pick up and try the latest Minelab treasure hunting equipment, as many local Minelab dealers are set up and ready to help put the best treasure hunting equipment in your hands.
At Go Minelabbing days you can also hang out with well known treasure hunters, people you may have read about in treasure hunting magazines or seen on your favorite TV treasure hunting show.
The enthusiasm generated at these get togethers is something else, especially from families. Being a dad myself, I get a kick out of parents introducing their kids who are into metal detecting or wanting to get into metal detecting.
I know darn well by the look in parents eyes that they too are hooked, or about to get hooked on this fantastic hobby. Kudos to Minelab for having a wide range of treasure hunting equipment that can be used by all members of the family, from grandparents to grandchildren.
If you are reading this blog and you have not decided what you are doing on the weekend of May 20-21, I suggest you make plans to attend your nearest Go Minelabbing event. You have a great chance to win a free metal detector and other treasure hunting equipment in the many raffles and giveaways, or get questions about metal detecting answered by metal detecting experts.
You can also experience the fun of taking part in one of the many scheduled competition hunts, or check out the finds displayed by local metal detecting clubs.
