It was was a day full of high hopes for a Permission I had visited just over a year ago due to work commitments and recovered a 11th-12th Medeival Gold Ring from with my E-TRAC, so you can see why I had high hopes for this field. I parked and I started to walk down the footpath to get to my field, and to be truthful I was that excited to get there I was walking so quick I must have looked very strange to the odd dog walker passing by! I finally got on the field, took a deep breath, turned on my E-TRAC and began.
The first few hours I got the same old buttons bits of scrap lead, then the signals just seemed to stop with long periods of just the faint threshold hum to keep me company. I still had that gutt feeling in my stomach which calls you back over the years to that same field when you know there has to be be something else there. Before I knew it, a loud blast came through my headphones, it was that loud it made me jump! I started to dig with all of the images running through my head of what it could be and then all of a sudden I got a glint of silver, as I recovered it and rubbed it between my finger it looked like a hammered but not one i had seen before. After a bit of research I found it to be a Knights Templar Coin, not much came up after that but I was still really happy.
On my next visit to the field a few weeks after it seemed to be the same, not many signals coming up. As I walked to the edge of the feild to get myself a cuppa coffee and a sandwhich I got the faintest of signals and decideded to dig it before my break. I began digging away as you do, thinking proberly just another button, silver paper or lead, as we have all done. My heart dropped when I got a view in the soil, I brushed the soil away with the side of my hand and Gooolllldddd! I was lost for words, but extremely excited my first Gold Quarter Noble, I wished to find one after seeing people post theirs over the years and now my wish as come true.
