Hi, My Name is Mike, and I have been metal detecting for years... but not with a Minelab detector. I have used Bounty Hunters, Tesoros, and various White's Detectors... Earlier this summer I had been hitting this 100 year old house that has been hit for years, and also for about a month solid by myself this year alone, but to my knowledge never with a Minelab... Finding various old coins on the property, including Indian head cents, Merc Dimes, Barber dimes and quarters... And tons of wheat pennies... But after seeing all the success others were having I decided to try the Minelab Explorer SE Pro... Literally after just reading the manual I hit this old house one more time using just the factory settings... And within 30 minutes I found 2 wheat pennies, a silver Roosevelt dime, and the find of the year for me, a 1907 O Barber half dollar, in spots I had completely covered, and thought I had found everything... These were not excessively deep, but next to iron objects and the other detectors just passed them by... All were about 4 inches deep... Since then I have been hitting all my old places and finding stuff the other detectors missed... including buffalo nickles, war nickles, wheats, and quite a few silver dimes... and of course my one and only barber half dollar... What I love is the separation from iron this detector gives me... I have heard the E-TRAC is even better, but believe I have one of the best detectors in the world, I am however, very interested what Minelab has planned for the next detector even better than the Explorer SE Pro or E-TRAC...
