The ground was alive, clear signals coming through, hitting some good finds and some trashy finds, then suddenly peering through the wet soil I could see the silver edge to a coin. To my amazement I had found a Scottish Hammered Coin - William I and posthumous, short cross and stars coinage, phase B (c.1205-c.1230), reverse legend retrograde, moneyers: Hue and Walter or Walter and Adam, almost certainly the former.
