While detecting at a local hot spot in So Cal., I was walking the line during low tide. In other words the area where most items settle in the sand.
After about 3 hours of swinging and 3 earrings later I heard that low grunt that stopped me in my tracks. I pinpointed and buried my scoop. After making sure it was in my scoop I kicked the scoop of sand and there it was, big and round. At first glance it looked like a class ring. It had some weight to it. On closer inspection it turn out to be a ring from a US marine.
I looked at it and check for an inscription to see if I could return it to one of our Heroes that risk life and limb to make our way of life possible. But no such luck. Sempre Fi.
