David Pietroski was at one of his colonial sites on the Eastern Shore of Maryland using his Equinox 800, he decided to hit a area off to the side that wasn't searched very much. After hitting a mixed high tone David dug down and pulled out an oval plate, after brushing off a little dirt he recognized it as a very rare Civil War Maryland State Seal Cartridge box plate! Being on the Eastern shore of Maryland, Civil War relics are very rarely found there and this was a find he had only dreamed about finding prior! Never expected to find this at a site that was producing early colonial relics, but it was a pleasant surprise!
