Ultimate Coin Spill

26 Mar 2018

Late last year, I went to one of my favourite hunting grounds with my trusty CTX 3030. After about an hour of picking up pennies and silvers. I needed to take a toilet break. I was not game enough to leave my CTX 3030 out in the open so I found a nice bit of bush. As I was making my way through the vegetation, I decided to give it a bit of a scan. Picked up a 12:35 and I thought sixpence. Spot on. Went a bit further in and picked up a high low jumpy signal. I thought it was a bit of aluminium. I started digging and picked up a signal with the pro-35. Bang and out comes an 1890 shilling. The pin pointer was still picking up more. I used my finger to scrape the dirt and there was another coin with a veiled Queen Victoria however this one was gold. My heart stopped I took the coin out of the hole to read the date. My hands were shaking. “1890”. I checked the hole again and there was another target. Bam another 1890 sovereign; but this one was bigger. I checked the hole again and nothing. I filled my hole and crawled back out of the bush. I stood there with 3 coins in my hand. I had to take a picture before they disappeared 1890 shilling, 1890 half sovereign and an 1890 full sovereign. Packed up and headed for home. Halfway home I remembered that I did not go to the bathroom.
