With the onset of the Spring Storm season in Perth beach hunting can turn up some nice surprises. I had been keeping my eye on one particular beach north of Perth for some time. After returning from a trip to the Northern Goldfields towards the end of August the time was just about right to hit it hard. Unfortunately the weather was blowing a gale and the swells were up and i couldn't get to the area i was most interested in but still managed a 9ct gold ring.
The next week however the stars aligned the swell was down and even managed a low tide> Early targets were all coins but it wasn't long before the first ring came up in the scoop, a nice 18ct dress ring, followed very shortly by a 9ct men’s band. The third ring kept me waiting sometime and work hard, about four scoops, before showing itself. End of the day a good supply of sinkers enough spendable for a good feed and three nice rings. Great way to spend a few hours on a Sunday morning.
