I was detecting on a site where until 1898 a farm was located. Last year i went over this place multiple times with another detector and was curious if the equinox could get anything of this field. After some Dutch pennies, some trash I got a solid 19 and when I started digging I saw yet again a big piece of shiny aluminium trash. Without a close look I put it in my trash bag. I only saw the back of it as it found its way to the bottom of the bag. When I got home, I turned the bag upside down to sort the trash. I saw the big piece of shiny trash only it looked different now. The other side was facing me now and it was decorated, with roses and leaves. Also markings in it. Aluminium doesn’t have marks in it, why would they I thought. Started looking on the internet and yours truly almost put a very nice silver decorated bible lock, made in 1851, in the aluminium trashcan.
