On the 3rd of November 1493, during his second voyage, Christophe Colomb reached the coasts of the island of "Guadeloupe".
522 years later, I also landed in Guadeloupe, with my Excalibur. The water temperature is the same as in the air, between 28 ° C and 30 ° C. For old rum it is rather 50 °, then do not overdo, especially before diving.
I prepare my detector, plastic shovel, fins, mask, and snorkel. An iguana looks at me with curiosity. Let’s go for more than an hour of happiness.
No wetsuit needed, if we do not approach too close to the coral. The water is crystal clear.
No shark, a turtle catching his breath, beautiful fishes and some shy lobsters in rocks dips, jealously guarding the lost coins.
Occasionally a pelican diving nearby that startled me. He is interested in fish and me in coins and jeweleries. To each his own!
Recent coins, bracelets, silver ring dolphin and fishing sinkers.
I should not be on the landing beach where Christophe Colomb reached the coasts, as no doubloons or gold ecus, but still beautiful days at the beach.
Next expedition, is to find the philosopher's stone to turn lead into gold ...
The adventure is not over, the evening gets dark early, so barbecue with fish and lobster, rum and little punch to end the evening.
I am already looking forward to next year!
