I only had my Safari for a few weeks, when my Brother in law asked me if I could help him recover a Silver Tiffany Ring that his daughter, my niece lost in their front yard about 5 yrs ago. So I said I would give it a try.
My niece lost the ring while throwing a ball for the dog to chase. Because it was silver, I was searching for that high signal. I spent about 4 hrs searching for the high silver signal & could not locate it.
About 1 month later I told my brother in law I wanted to come back & try again. This time my niece had given him another ring like it that I was able to get a reading on so I knew what I was looking for. Turns out it was reading more like foil around a 10 because of the way it was made. It was a mesh, chain type ring.
So I started gridding his front yard, dug several targets that read close to what the ring read & found foil. I was beginning to think I wasn't going to find it. I only had 2 more passes to make in my grid of the front yard, when I got a real good signal reading 10 like the ring, dug down & popped the plug out scan the hole with my pinpointer & nothing in the hole.
Scanned the plug with the pinpointer & it started beeping. pulled some dirt from the plug & there was Ms Tiffany looking up at me. I said " Well Hello Ms Tiffany".
My brother in law standing by the house said "did you really find it", I said yup. He was just as amazed as I was that I found it. My niece was thrilled to get her ring back after 5 long years.
