So what a day I’ve had or as some may know....what a month I've had! 3 cricket buckles, 2 snake buckles, a gold miners ring...And now today an 1856 half gold sovereign! Pretty lucky I feel and always love finding these great relics of the past. Today's hunt started off fairly slow, managed to find a few nice pieces. Some buckles a lead decorative piece. Also an old keg tap but missing handle unfortunately. For the rest of the day it was low signals, and outcome button after button. One with a real neat design of an anchor on front, very brittle though. To finish the day I moved spots not too far, but obviously the right choice. I spent the next hour gridding a paddock, through the long grass back and forth until I got a nice signal, ringing up as a solid 15. I had just previously dug a button at 15 and figured this was just another. Daydreaming I end up digging out the target only to realise it wasn't a button, but a 1856 gold half sovereign Safe to say I wasn't day dreaming anymore, I knew exactly what I had definitely one of my best days out detecting so far with the mighty Equinox 800 I wonder now....what could be next
