My E-TRAC never ever ceases to amaze me. Went out to spend the day on fields the we have detected for a number of years with a colleague. We did not expected to find much given the number of times we have searched these fields. Just another day on the cliff tops around Saltburn by the Sea.
The farmer had ploughed and rolled the fields so they were primed and ready for us. I switched on and within seconds I found a lovely little Shield Weight Early Medieval, and from then on I only had to go about ten yards or so before another find 15 Victorian and Georgian pennies and halfpennies (gave some to the farmers little boy) Roman Brooch 350AD (in great condition), Charles 1 Silver Shilling 1642/8AD, small Roman Bronze coin Constantine 324-337AD and my next notable find was a part silver shilling of Elizabeth 1 1567AD.
My colleague also had a great day with many finds to his collection. I have no doubts that we will be back in that field again soon. We are members of the Ruebury Hill MDC a select membership one of the main conditions of membership is to own and use a Minelab detectors.
