Hello everyone!
At the start of September, I went out with my E-TRAC to a field where people have been searching with metal detectors for over 30 years. Till this day people still dig up nice finds at this particular field, including me.
My find was surrounded by iron objects, so I didn't have a clear signal. Nevertheless, I still decided to dig and see what was there...
'Wow!' was the first thing that came to my mind. I was the lucky person to discover a Roman statue of the goddess Fortuna!!!!!!
She is the goddess of faith and luck. Well, it was my lucky day to find this beauty!
Last week I had a response from the archaeologists, they made a detailed description and some professional photo's of the statue . They said that it was a very rare find, there are only a few bronze Fortuna statues known in the Netherlands. They were really excited about it!
This is the best find I ever had with my detector! Thanks Minelab!
