Started a new club and had an amazing hunt

20 Jun 2023

We have started a new club in North Central Arkansas. This is a News Article published by the Hallmark Times. I will include the details and photos of a hunt at a house that burned down in April 2023. You are free to use what you want. If you want the Hallmark Times article the author, a friend, gives permission. Our local newspaper printed the article also. https://hallmarktimes.com/north-central-arkansas-relic-hunters-club-forms/?fbclid=IwAR0R5pQyGu1GazVnSn6IQ8G7ym2gj53INlln_22VOyEegGS_Ssr15e87T1Y Kenneth Holland Hunt May 3rd 2023 close to Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas. Well, you missed a good one today. We went to a young ladies home that burned down in April. They had a lot of heirlooms from her grandmother. Some were quite valuable. I feel my age right now but we had a wonderful time. We found more rings today than I have ever found. It wasn't an easy hunt because of all the nails and metal. My Minelab Manticore really did a good job. We are going back because there are many things left to find. I even found a sword, lol. I think we found 18 diamond, ruby, and other rings. I even found the grandmothers class and wedding rings. We found several gold chains and necklaces. I was surprised how good a shape they were in. A jeweler can fix them easily. We also found a bunch of old coins, mostly pre 1964 quarters they collected and a lot of other things. There are a bunch of antique knives in an area we didn't have time to search. We will get them when we go back. There is a lot left to find. This is the trashiest spot I have ever hunted. So much debris. The Manticore lives up to the hype. I didn’t have much faith in any detector being effective in this situation. It picked good targets right next to the bad. I haven’t seen a detector this good. My wife now wants me to get her own. What is interesting is the house was built on a raised wood foundation in the 1920s with dirt under that. While searching, I kept getting good signals at depths of about 8 inches along with the signals on top of the dirt in several places. I didn’t have time to dig them but I marked their locations to come back later. I am wondering what was buried in the ground under the house. Now Minelab, I am anxious to get a smaller coil. I really wonder if that is even necessary as good as the coil that came with the machine did. Thanks.
