Simply Amazing!

06 Apr 2011

All I can say is WOW! The New Minelab GPX 5000 is simply amazing! My friends from Tennessee and I were recently invited to attend a prominent Northern Virginia Civil War hunt called the D.I.V. Or otherwise known as the" Diggin in Virginia." It is a privilege to be invited to these hunts, and we were very excited to participate. Minelab Americas played a huge part in sponsoring the event by donated a brand new, GPX 5000 in my Dealerships name. Woodland Detector sales. I myself recently purchased one, and was very excited to put it to the test. Folks, this machine performed AMAZINGLY! The ground in Virginia is fire orange, and claylike, with very hot with minerals and iron. I have detected all over the United States, and Northern Virginia soil has proven to be some of the most difficult to detect. The GPX 5000 however, handles the soil with ease, punching through the iron reaching the good stuff, other competitors machines were missing. The GPX was a very simple and user friendly. I hunted 3 days from 7:30-6:00pm. The GPX out performed the competitors machines with ease, and some VERY impressive American Civil War Relics were found using the New GPX Series detectors. In those 3 days I dug nearly 100 bullets, 15 buttons, j-hooks, slings and other miscellaneous relics from the Union and Confederate campaign. We began our first day after a Civil War Cannon sounded a large report confirming it was time to hunt. It was a cloudy, chilly morning and you could your breath. My relic hunting buddies went their way, and we began searching. I fired up the GPX, chose my settings and ran a noise cancel and balance. My first solid tone was a standard Union 3 ringer! It was on then! I then got some real faint good sounding tones I decided to dig that turned out to be tiny Civil War percussion caps at over 8 inches. I literally had to be somewhat selective on the targets I decided to dig. In one of the photos here, you'll see me digging a tone very deep that turned out to be a NY cuff button at an easy 18 inches! I heard talk over the 3 way radios during the week of people were having great difficulty adjusting to the competitors machines, designed for that soil. I was just thankful I had the GPX 5000 on that hunt. I highly recommend the GPX 4800 or the GPX 5000 to anyone very serious about searching, and recovering any type of relics. Besides being the best Gold machine in the world, we can now say the same for relics. This machine has opened a new door on the relic hunting scene on the East Coast.
