I was hunting a permission in a small yard on a cold day in December. After finding several wheat pennies, I was determined to keep going as I was hoping for silver. I was surprised instead to find a large mans gold school college ring. There was a date of 1950 on the side, and B.S. on the other- Bachelors of Science. Inside was engraved the mans name, city, state. I was able to research online and found unfortunately he had died about a decade ago. I kept looking and found his wife and contacted her. Science certainly has changed since 1950, but without it- the CTX 3030 to find the ring and the computer to research next of kin wouldn't have been possible. :)
