I have been a die hard Whites XLT user for a few years now. I have found plenty of great coins, relics etc. But I was having trouble with depth on this machine and I just knew I was missing older coins. So I researched and watched many videos on Minelab machines and needless to say I was wanting one badly. So I bought a New Minelab Safari on June 28 2011.
I have only had it in the field a brief time just tinkering with it to learn the detector. I went to a very old wooded area close to my home where I have pulled some older coins. Thirty minutes into my hunt I pulled an Indian Head penny dated 1868 6" in depth. One hour later had a screaming high tone signal at 10" which showed silver on the display. Dug it up and there it was shiny silver! It was an 1858o Seated Liberty Quarter and it was a beauty!
